I really expected my career in actual journalism to involve a lot more interesting things than reviewing coffee places.

But apparently they don't give important stories to teenagers who look 14 despite being older than that which I KEEP TELLING THEM.

You need to look for a scoop, I guess.

Isn't journalism one of those jobs where you gotta kiss everybody's butts until you get lucky?

I think, like with most jobs, you have to work your way up from the bottom.

A lot of the time it feels like anything that lets you work your way up gets given to someone already up.
