Jun. 8th, 2009 07:02 pmThe Pre-Quarter finals are over, and the Quarter-Finals have begun!
So far we have seen very quick, but certainly not boring duels from the finalists!
Despite her high powered Skill Drain Rush, American Junior Class Champion Emily Steinbeck was defeated in a short but high powered duel by one of Yuusei Fudo's ace monsters, Junk Warrior!.
Yuuki Juudai managed to keep American Freshman Champion ALICE pinned down the entire duel with one of his ace fusions, Elemental Hero Absolute Zero, and managed to defeat her with relatively little trouble!
and Jinn Naoma defeated Kouji Tokei's Fiend Roar deck with relative ease. Although she was able to fend him off for a time and cost him precious resources with clever usage of her traps, in the end she could do nothing but succumb to the crushing force of his Beast-Warrior monsters powered up by Unity of The Tribe!
and in the Quarter Finals, Jeanette Dianne Grave was overpowered by Yuusei Fudo. Despite her valiant attemps and the repeated summoning of powerful synchro monsters, it seems Yuusei always had a counter and won with relatively little difficulty at all.
And the biggest upset so far in the tournament!
Yuuki Juudai crushed American Grand Champion Anna Mustang, swarming her from the first turn with Absolute Zero and his one of a kind card Elemental Hero The Earth, and despite losing them both after direct attacks due to Anna Mustang's field clearing Spirit Overdrive spell card, Yuuki Juudai won in the next turn with another of his big monsters, Evil Hero Blood Vice, using it's effect to strip her of her only monster and preventing an upset due to Honest.
